Dis/Membered Dis/Membered
Dis/Membered puts a contemporary spin on a long tradition of candid street photography by blurring the line between realism and surrealism.
Breaking away from classical street photography, the series abandons any intent of chronicling moments of history and placing them within a specific context. These are snippets pruned from reality. Ripped from time. Populated by individuals severed from their individuality. Robbed of their faces.
Dis/Membered is about abject erasure. Its focus is its very absence. What’s present is merely an index to what’s irretrievably missing.
