Is it art if it's not pretentious?

Hailing from post-communist Eastern Europe, Mix is an Amsterdam-based artistè (that’s French for artist) whose visual praxis interrogates the blurry boundary between the fictitious, the real and the hyperreal.
Drawing from his Slav sense of aesthetics, his deceptive editing style seeks to deconstruct the photographic process as an act of political defiance.
When he’s not being a snob, he spends his days working in advertising (also known as selling out in art circles). He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in film and philosophy from the University of Amsterdam, which he giddily employs to drop snide remarks at the movies (or whenever someone dares to speak positively of a piece du cinéma he deems bad).
Mix has no agent. He wrote this bio himself. Some of it is serious, most of it isn’t. Yes, he loved doing it.
